We believe thoughtful design extends beyond aesthetics, creating spaces that respond to people, place, and the way we live, work, and connect.
Studio Affogato is a community-driven design studio with experience across a broad range of sectors. We are interested in the role design can play in bringing people together, creating spaces that support connection and shared experience. Our work is grounded in curiosity, collaboration, and a careful understanding of place. We believe good design is about more than how a space looks. It is about how it feels, how it works, and what it makes possible. From workplaces and hospitality spaces to public and community environments, we create considered interiors with clarity, character, and a sense of purpose.
Our approach balances creativity with a practical understanding of how spaces need to work, with a focus on creating environments that have character, encourage connection and stand the test of time. We work closely with clients, designers, artists, builders, and makers, bringing different perspectives into the process and allowing each project to develop authentically.
Our services include spatial planning, interior design, interior documentation; and curation of art, furniture and objects.
With over 16 years in the design industry, Afraa Ahmed leads Studio Affogato with a considered and collaborative approach to interior design. Afraa’s work is grounded in the belief that good design should extend beyond aesthetics, considering how spaces are experienced and the ways they can bring people together.
Her experience spans education, retail, hospitality, commercial and public projects, working with clients including RMIT, Victoria University, La Trobe University, Westfield, Vicinity Group, the City of Melbourne, Gucci and Mecca.
